Olde Mistick Village began as an idea in 1963 when Martin Olson bought the land. The original idea was for a mall but it quickly evolved into the center's current format. It opened in 1973 and has grown ever since. Many of the shops feature hand-crafted gifts and local souvenirs while restaurants are a great way to enjoy a meal.
